About Me

Sarah Healey (she/her) is a graphic designer based in Tāmaki Makaurau (Auckland). She has nearly 20 years experience in the worlds of book publishing, advocacy, education and the arts both in New Zealand and internationally.

“I love to help people tell their stories, that’s how I see my role as a graphic designer. Whether it’s telling a brand story through logos and social media marketing campaigns or helping an author to navigate the process of self-publishing, I delight in the creative journey that we get to go on together to really nut out what a client is trying to say, and how their voice can be amplified through beautiful design.”

When Sarah is not at her desk she can be found enjoying the beach, often with children and a dog in tow.

One of my happy places, the east cape of New Zealand in all its moodiness.

The Process

Step 1: Let's Chat

My clients are from all over the world and we often only get to “meet” each other online, however our relationships are always based on mutual trust and understanding. Let’s talk about your project and see if our values align, and how I can best support you. After an initial consultation I will provide a cost estimate and action plan in writing.

Step 2: Concept

Once the parameters of your project have been communicated and agreed on, I will present you with design concepts to mull over. This is an exciting collaborative process and we might have some back-and-forth discussions to tweak or revise the design to get a result that you absolutely love.

Step 3: Delivery

When the final design is signed off I will provide print- or screen-ready files and be available for ongoing support through implementation, whether that’s sending the job to print, publishing online, or applying your brand across channels. I want to see your project flourish so let’s stay in touch!

Working With Me...

There is a lot that goes into bringing a children’s book to life. As a first time author, I didn’t really know where to start to turn my manuscript into a book. Sarah helped me through the whole process of bringing my story to life. From creating the illustrations, to doing the design work for the pages, and even helping me to source a local printer for the book, Sarah supported me through every step of the journey. I would not hesitate to do another project like this with Sarah, and highly recommend her services.

Kellie Dawson, Author of There’s A T-Rex In My Tummy

I have had the privilege of engaging Sarah on a number of different projects including book covers and typesetting, logos, and informational diagrams. Her work is always excellent. Sarah has been able to translate specific briefs, as well as more abstract instructions, into visually appealing designs. She has also been able to develop designs around work provided by another artist. Sarah’s promptness, clear communication, and adaptability have made working with her a seamless experience. I highly recommend Sarah as a designer.

Roimata Smail, Author of Understanding Te Tiriti

Sarah is not only personable but also a joy to engage with, especially when exploring new avenues and concepts together. At the culmination of the creative process, she consistently delivers results that are nothing short of stunning and eye-catching, leaving us all filled with pride. Thank you, Sarah, for your boundless inspiration!
